: Over the next 5 years, we aim to cultivate a vibrant community of users, content library partners, fund data partners, other appropiate service providers etc. This will not only foster innovation through shared ideas but also provide invaluable feedback.Green Computing
: Recognizing our responsibility towards the environment, we will adopt strategies to minimize our carbon footprint, optimize resource usage, and promote sustainable practices. Our development strategy is not just about technological growth; it’s about creating value, building relationships, and driving sustainable and responsible innovation. We believe that our roadmap aligns well with the evolving digital landscape and the aspirations of our progressive clients & partners.
At Door, we have plans in the pipeline for a significant redesign of our solution’s interface. Here’s an overview of our intended changes:
We are targeting a release window for the new UX/UI in 2024, specifically around Q3/Q4. This redesign will be rolled out in a phased manner, with the initial launch focusing on the most crucial user-centric enhancements.
User-Centric Self Service
: We understand the importance of giving users autonomy. The redesign will emphasize self-service features, making everything from user registration and sign-up to in-depth platform configurations being intuitive and user-friendly.Enhanced Networking Capabilities
: Our platform will foster even more robust connections and engagements. The aim is to amplify the interaction between Asset Managers and Fund Investors, further promoting seamless collaboration.Data-Led Insights
: In this digital age, data drives decisions. The redesigned interface will present insights in a clearer, more actionable manner, enabling users to make more informed decisions. It’s essential to highlight that while the user-facing aspects will undergo this transformation, the backbone of our platform - including the backend, infrastructure, logic, and services - will remain unchanged. This is not a shift in the product/platform’s core functionalities but a strategic enhancement in how users interact with and experience the platform.
We’re excited about our upcoming designs & changes, driven by feedback, industry trends, and our commitment to ensuring our platform remains at the forefront of user experience and functionality.
Door’s release strategy has been fine-tuned to ensure seamless updates and minimal disruptions for our users.
At Door, we have adopted a Kanban release process. This agile methodology allows us to prioritize and rapidly deliver software updates to accommodate evolving requirements and immediate needs.
These are comprehensive updates that might include new features, significant enhancements, or changes that might affect the fundamental way the software operates. Given our agile approach, we do not have a fixed frequency for major releases. Instead, they are scheduled based on a combination of user feedback, market dynamics, and our innovation roadmap. We adopt a microservice based approach; and are able to break a major release/change into multiple smaller issues/features/releases and are able to deploy continuously.
These include incremental changes, such as minor feature enhancements, improvements, and non-critical bug fixes. Owing to our Kanban process, we have the capacity to push minor releases daily, ensuring swift adaptability to user needs.
Our system is equipped to release patches multiple times a day. These patches often entail urgent bug fixes, security updates, or other time-sensitive alterations. Their frequency is contingent on the necessity to maintain software integrity and user security.
Our capability to offer frequent and reliable releases is bolstered by the following:
Cloud Infrastructure:
Enables scalability and flexibility, ensuring swift deployment and allowing us to serve a diverse clientele without compromising on speed or security.Microservice-based Architecture:
By compartmentalizing our services, we can swiftly pinpoint, update, or fix specific segments without affecting the whole system. This reduces potential system downtime and ensures uninterrupted service.CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery):
Automates our software delivery process. This not only speeds up our releases but also maintains the integrity of the software as each change is automatically tested before being deployed.Smart Branching Technology:
Ensures a structured approach to version control, allowing us to simultaneously work on different features or fixes without hindrance.Automated Tests:
Before any release, whether major, minor, or patch, our updates undergo rigorous automated testing to ascertain their quality, performance, and security. At Door, we take pride in our adaptive and dynamic release strategy. This ensures our data led platform & solutions are always current, secure, and optimized for our users. Our infrastructure and practices not only make frequent releases possible but also ensure that each release upholds the quality and trust that our clientele expect from us.
Below is a high level strategy of the Door code branching in order to achieve a continuous build and release process.
